You can perform emotional alchemy and I will show you how.

The idea of alchemy is to reduce something with fire – burning it down so that something new can rise from the ashes. You can do this with your personality, too. You’ve always had the power; you just didn’t know that. Now you do.

Highly sensitive, emotional, and intuitive children are often impacted most severely by dysfunctional family dynamics, childhood emotional neglect, sexual abuse, grooming, generational trauma, and inherited toxic shame. As adults, these same children often find themselves with a disorder or dysfunction label, as mainstream psychiatry tries to convince them that the root of their suffering is due to a disordered personality or chemical imbalance.

Our current medical model of mental health is quick to pathologize. Psychiatrists and therapists operating within this model often ask, “What’s wrong with you?” but rarely, “What *happened* to you?” Personalities are not cancerous tumors; psychological suffering cannot be accurately understood or treated through the lens of a purely medical model. We have to go deeper. And that's exactly what we do here on Back from the Borderline.

A path toward healing exists, even though I know it can feel impossible when you’re looking up from rock bottom.

Through working with and integrating the concepts we explore in each episode together, you’ll learn to:

✧ Better regulate, name and process your emotions

✧ Understand and reduce chronic feelings of emptiness

✧ Confront and uproot your toxic shame

✧ Put an end to recurring patterns of self-sabotage

✧ Connect with your Higher Self

✧ Break the cycle of generational family trauma

✧ Set healthier boundaries with yourself and others

✧ Recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships

✧ Heal from a chronic need to please and seek validation from others

Tune in and prepare yourself to be standing in the ashes of the person you used to be. New episodes drop every Tuesday.

Some feel like if only they could “heal” their trauma, they could figure out who they really are. This is the core of identity diffu...

Viewing BPD symptoms through the lens of narrative therapy can help you change your story once and for all

September 27, 2022 09:00 - 1 hour - 54.8 MB

The issue with many current BPD treatments is that they are focused squarely on the individual – these therapies (like DBT or CBT) primarily focus on coping skills – which are helpful, no doubt – but these same therapeutic modalities fail to get “under the hood.” Skills alone can’t help us get to the *true* heart of the matter: the systemic components of what we view as a society as “disordered behavior.” Many individuals who identify with the symptoms of BPD or have a formal diagnosis find ...

September 20, 2022 09:00 - 1 hour - 52.2 MB

Looking at the psychological suffering of humans through a medical lens has taken center stage for as long as many of us can remember. However, more and more - especially in recent months - the biomedical model has come under fire.  Research published in the last few months by psychiatrist Joanna Moncrieff and her team at Kings College in London has proven without a shadow of a doubt that the “serotonin hypothesis” (the idea that mental illnesses - predominantly depression - are caused by an...

At this very moment, millions of people honestly believe that they are experiencing signs and symptoms of mental disorders and illnesses because something is chemically wrong with their brains - and these “imbalances” can be passed down from generation to generation. This new research by Dr. Moncrieff is rattling the entire psychiatric establishment. Maybe, just maybe. There’s nothing wrong with the way your brain is working. Perhaps - it’s responding exactly as it believes it needs to keep ...

September 13, 2022 09:00 - 1 hour - 48.4 MB

Many who identify with symptoms of borderline personality disorder find themselves wanting to “get better.” This often leads to therapy (which is great), which leads to learning skills in therapeutic modalities like CBT or DBT (also great.) However, what is also common is that these very same people find that the “skills” aren’t enough.   Maybe you’ve done all your research. You’ve been to therapy. You’ve learned the skills. But you’re still unhappy and stuck in a perpetual loop of chronic...
