The first commercial rideshare to the Moon is set to land later this morning, making it the first U.S. lunar landing since Apollo 17 in 1972. Odysseus, which launched last week, is part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program which allows private companies to build spacecrafts to send experiments to the moon. The plot of land beside the Waitematā harbour, and west of the bridge, will be leased by the Te Atatū Marae Coalition from the Council, and the plan is to include housing for elderly people next to the marae. Rocket Lab brings spacecraft back from orbit
