As the Palestinian death toll in the war in Gaza nears 30,000, questions continue to be asked as to what Israel's end goal really is.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long said he wishes for "total victory" against Hamas, but reports of human rights violations and potential war crimes by Israeli forces raises questions about Israel's intentions.
Overnight Wednesday, the Israeli parliament voted to back Netanyahu's declaration rejecting a two-state solution.
The United States once again used their veto power on Wednesday at the UN Security council against a resolution calling for an immediate end to the fighting.
Gideon Levy is an author and columnist for the Israeli publication Haaretz, he says the international community must force peace upon Israel.
Levy spoke to Corin Dann.
