Good day fam. This is Aimee J. Happy new year. Today is Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 and I am so stoked to be able to wish you guys a welcome to the new decade. A welcome to a new year and even more importantly a welcome to a new day. And why am I so joyed about this new day guys, we are awake. We are here to live this day. That is enough to be grateful for. So as your personal hype, man, I'm here to remind you how awesome you guys are, but I can't just, you know, puff you up. I have to also let you know there are things that we need to do to keep being our best self, alright? So today I want to talk to you a little bit about gratitude. K. What is gratitude? Gratitude is being thankful or recognizing blessings in your life. Gratitude is something that we often don't do because we just live our life with our heads down.

And so on this new year, on this new day, especially today as we head into 2020 and what is lying out there for us? We need to take stock and remember what is it we are grateful for on this day. For example, I would never ask you to do something I wouldn't do myself. I want you to name three things you are grateful for this day. I am grateful for my family. This holiday season, I've been reminded how blessed I am for my family. I know there are those who have different familial situations, so I am very grateful for the ones I have and if you're listening, I love you guys. You're the best. Number two, I'm grateful for you guys listening to this podcast right now. This is a new adventure for me. Daily podcast it's not really something I ever wanted or expected to do, but I was called to do this to help you and the fact that you're listening, you're enabling an Alexa skill, you're signing up and subscribing on the podcast means a lot to me, so thank you.

Number three. I am...It's hard because there's so many things I could, I could choose. I just want to pick three. And so, um, the third one is I'm grateful for the roof over my head because I've been in a number of different places. I've been in apartments where it smelled like smoke and it was tough to live there. And you know, I, I've been in different situations, but I'm living here with my parents taking care of them and I'm just grateful for that situation. It could be worse off. Absolutely. I, I, I've kind of been in those places and so I, I'm grateful that I have a great to kind of be here and talk to you guys. It doesn't have to be that deep though. You guys can be thankful for small things. You can be and you should be thankful for small things.

The whole exercise is recognizing an affirmatively., Calling out the things that you are lucky to have. I'm grateful for hot water. I'm grateful for the food on my plate. I'm grateful for the new shoes I bought. I'm grateful for my Christmas presents. I'm grateful for the movie I saw last night. It doesn't have to be deep. The point is taking a moment to recognize what you have in your life right at this time. Because tomorrow's not guaranteed, right? So what I want to make sure you guys remember that. For the next week and actually for the rest of the year, I'd, I'd hope you'd do it. But let's try with this week. Take time to find out three things you are grateful for and call it out. Write it down, keep track of it. And it doesn't have to be the same thing every day and probably shouldn't be, right if you're struggling,

But yeah, be grateful for something you said already, but there should be enough for you to find something new. And if you're struggling, think about it. I'm, I'm grateful I woke up today. I'm grateful I was able to walk. I'm grateful I have all my limbs. Here's some examples for you, right? So keep that in mind. Today's lesson and message is be grateful. Acknowledge your blessings for what they are. All right, so do that today. Do that for the next week. Do that for the rest of the year, but just do that today. I'll check in with you tomorrow about that. So guys, go out kick butt because you are awesome. You are loved, you are needed. And most importantly, never forget you are enough how you are. And if nobody tells you that, I just did and I believe it, or I wouldn't have a whole podcast to tell you about it. True story. All right.
