Thank you for joining me on this episode about perfectionism, and those awful “I’m not good enough” thoughts. I’m sharing, amongst other things, some tips on how to deal with perfection paralysis, why perfection isn’t the same as striving for a better life, and how a spelling test affected my view of being good enough.

I want you to remember that we ALL suffer from these types of thoughts, and that we owe it to ourselves to attempt to work through them.

1-3: Introduction to today’s topic. Where I’m recording from this week, and why.

3-14: Where perfectionism stems from. How a spelling test changed my childhood!

14-20: Identifying the three main types of perfectionist thoughts that I relate to.

20-30: Managing and eliminating perfectionism: some of the tips and tricks I’ve learnt, and TRY (!) to put into practice.

30-31: Quote of the episode

31-35 : What about the times when we truly don’t behave in ways that are becoming of us? When our actions do not reflect the people we want to be?

35-40: The difference between perfectionist / ‘not good enough’ thoughts, and positive pushy thoughts, the thoughts that spur you forward to be better.

40-42: Take aways from this episode, and closing comments.

Quote of the Episode:

“Above all things, never think that you’re not good enough yourself. [One] should never think that. My belief is that in life people will take you at your own reckoning.”

Isaac Asimov
