On episode three:

Dr. Tamika Wordlow Williams shares her journey from an eager college student (who was determined to enter into a career that would allow her to contribute to increasing college access and retention) to the Assistant Vice President/Dean of Students. We discuss her dissertation study titled, “Second in Command: Examining the Factors that Impact the Career Advancement of the Black Woman Chief Academic Officers.”

In full transparency, Tamika opens up about the challenges she experiences as a young, female, black senior administrator and the strategies she implements to overcome adversity including the importance of mentorship and intentional self-care. She is motivated by the bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future." Tamika asserts the importance of empowering and helping others achieve their goals.
