BONUS EPISODE!

In the aftermath of this year’s International Women’s Day, we sat down with Mettle cofounder, Bronwyn Bate, the domestic violence charity whose ethical gifts give back, based in Perth. Their social enterprise employs women who have experienced homelessness as a result of domestic and family violence.

FAMILY, DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF HOMELESSNESS IN AUSTRALIA.

But this year, with IWD in mind, we wanted to spark some conversation that is great to have in the lead up and during this day each year, but like many other issues, these are conversations that need to be had daily. And when we chatted to Bronwyn in the lead up to this interview, we were shocked by the figures and statistics she stated around the issue; which quite frankly, is at a crisis point.

What a fabulous inspiration she is, supporting the 25 women of Mettle with zero funding currently from the government, all supported by the gifting products they sell plus their philanthropic element of the business. One can only imagine the stress, anxiety and emotional turmoil these women go through just to survive and just to keep their family going. Find out just how they are coping and how their mental health is effected in the episode.
