Question for my fellow entrepreneurs out there: how do you feel about photoshoots?

Before I took up my leadership mantle, the only time I'd had professional photos was the first time I got married. Now, though? I do photoshoots twice a year! They're a great way to keep my mojo up, to keep my vibe high and my confidence grounded, and to come back to myself in moments of self-doubt.

I love the fact that I have a visual representation of my journey over time as an entrepreneur. I can look back at photos and remember how I felt in that moment. Which is incredible — but also vulnerable as hell.

Because in some of those photos, I can see that I was projecting myself into a place I hadn't reached yet. I was trying to capture the essence of how I thought it would feel to be where I wanted to be.

But I knew I wasn't there yet. So it felt fake.

Like I was pretending.

So on my most recent photoshoot, I did things a little differently. I wanted to confront the feeling that our value is in what we do, rather than who we are — when it should be the other way around. I wanted to see how it would feel to be witnessed in this way.

To stand in front of the camera and just let myself be good enough.

Because I am.

I'd love to know how this landed for you. Send me an email at [email protected], or head over to https://lisakuzman.com/ to book a call for a one-on-one jam sesh. You can also join my trauma sensitive leadership group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/764082764458292/
