I quit my job to do meaningful work. Through simplicity and a desire to live with less, I was able to quit my job without disrupting my family. I know I am in the honeymoon phase of being self-employed but I am ready for the challenge. I am ready for the unknown. I am ready to say yes to things I care about, and no to the things that don’t matter. I have had so much help and support in making this decision. My friends and family have been incredible, and you have made all the difference. You let me know that my message is important and this work is my calling. There’s a chance you’ve already created list upon list of the pros and cons of staying vs. leaving, and you do recognize your effort. Maybe you’ve already learned new skills, interviewed for a brand new job and you recognize precisely what’s next. Or, maybe your effort to freelance, at regular times, you would begin your own business, or begin another beyond-the-desk-adventure! These are three steps you can keep in mind while you decide to quit your job. So it becomes highly important for you to -
(1) Evaluate all the reasons why you’re quitting your job
(2) then remember your resources (economic and psychological) to create this decision
(3) determine if this will be the best time for this move.
Overall, it’s a decision that needs you to reflect upon and consider all your options.
