We're in a society that largely prefers to wait for the sickness then take a tablet versus getting ahead and investing in health.

Our approach at Profound is to advocate prevention rather than cure, but most folks get this the other way around and that can come with consequences.

One reason for this is the wonderful and much appreciated prevalence of our health care system, it's a safety net that is there to catch us when we fall and we are thankful for that.

But, this safety net comes with a responsibility that most overlook.

The responsibility is still upon the individual to care for their body. Then use the medical resource when it is needed, yet massive numbers of people are neglecting their self-care, and falling back on the safety net of the NHS. They miss opportunities to invest in their health ahead of time, only to desperately miss it when it starts to falter.

One common problem that is faced is budgeting for health.

Budgeting with your time and with your money; and in this episode we unpick some small changes that we have helped people make to access money they were previously spending without realising it added up to what could have amounted to a gym membership, or time with a coach.

We discuss the current wrangle in the fitness industry between exercise as a kind of entertainment that may not yield a health result, versus our approach of training and working towards a much needed outcome.

We also give some examples of straight forwards cost saving measures that can easily add up to the price of a gym membership and ultimately contribute towards the thing that is priceless, your health.
