Feeding kids can feel complicated, especially if your child doesn’t seem to be growing appropriately or making food choices you feel good about.

What is the best way to talk to your kids about food and unravel all of the information out there?

On today's episode, Tara welcomes guest expert, Amelia Sherry, MPH, RD. Amelia is a registered and certified dietitian/nutritionist (RD, CDN) as well as a certified diabetes counselor and education specialist (CDCES) with a master’s in public health nutrition. She has helped hundreds of families develop positive, happy relationships with food, as well as navigate the challenges of dealing with nutrition-related medical diagnoses such as type 1 and 2 diabetes, growth disorders, and changes in BMI.

In addition to providing one-on-one nutrition therapy, she is also the founder of NourishHer which provides information and inspiration to moms who have a history of chronic dieting, dysfunctional eating, and eating disorders.

Amelia is the author of Diet-Proof Your Daughter: A Mother's Guide for Raising Girls Who Have Happy, Healthy Relationships with Food & Body.

Amelia is here today to give us some practical tips on how parents can help kids foster a positive relationship with food and body image.

And discuss with us:
-What to say, what not to say?

-How do we deal with picky eaters?

-How do we communicate about the relationship between food and how our body feels?

-How do we pay attention to the cues of our body without associating it with value words, like “good” and “bad” foods?

-Eating Competence - set of skills essential eating skills - linked to stable body  weight, lower cholesterol, not about what we eat
