In this episode, Cheryl discussed:
Where does our identity come from?
Discovering your identity through the Enneagram
Leaning into your authentic self
You can’t love others unless and until you love yourself
Key Takeaways:
Our name, culture, upbringing, socioeconomic status, family dynamics and such play a part in who we are, where we came from, and who we decide we want to be in the world.
The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. It describes nine personality types and maps each of these types on a nine-pointed diagram which helps to illustrate how the types relate to one another.
You don’t need to morph into something or someone that you’re not in order to fit in. Lean into your authentic self.
Get to a point where you are able to love the person in the mirror. Remember that you can’t love others if until you love yourself. It has to start with us, we have to have enough self-love that we could afford to be selfless and truly give to others.
“We can't truly love others unless and until we love ourselves first. We have to have enough self-love that we can be selfless at times, and truly love and give to others.” — Cheryl Knowlton
