A retired high school English teacher and writing consultant at Bates College, Richard Wile has published essays, stories, reviews, and poetry in magazines such as Sojourners, Christian Century, Solstice: A Magazine of Diverse Voices, Fourth Genre and Prairie Schooner. His novel, Requiem in Stones, was published in 2016, and The Geriatric Pilgrim: Tales From the Journey in 2023.

He and his wife, Mary Lee live in Brunswick, Maine, where he plays clawhammer banjo in old time music jams.
