A must listen to for all parents of teenagers. In this episode I catch up with coach Isabella Furgeson. Growing up in Canberra in the 80's. Isabella found that alcohol gave her a voice, that sense of confidence turned into serious binge drinking. Fast forward to motherhood, the binge drinking continued to the point where Isabella found herself becoming the drunkest person at gatherings and parties. As the shame increased so did her drinking, where she began hiding her drinking from her husband. One particular night Isabella got so drunk she had to be rushed to hospital which was essentially her rock bottom, from there she detoxed and went into rehab. We chat about untangling your beliefs about yourself, how trying moderation led to more sneaking after rehab. Eventually Isabella found This Naked Mind course and was able to kick the habit, she know coaches others in sobriety and runs courses on How To Talk To Your Kids About Alcohol.

If you are struggling with physical dependancy on alcohol consider contacting a local AA meeting or a drug and alcohol therapist. Always consult a GP before stopping alcohol.
