Golden Nuggets:
✨ “Start by asking questions and getting curious about yourself.”
✨ “I can't know what things need to change until I pick and stock everything that formed me whether that's my own life experiences or the life experiences of the people who've come before me..”
✨ “Talk about your conception of anything outside or beyond you, where did that come from, and what shifted it to where it is now.”
✨ “Instead of reacting with the first emotion, the first word, the first thing that needs to come out, taking a pause, settling back down into what's really at the heart of my anger, what's really at the heart of my frustration..”
✨ “I don't think we can change unjust systems, I don't think we can decolonize until we can really get comfortable with discomfort and not having everyone like us.”
✨ “We all have places where we do have power, and we do have the capacity to bring change.”
✨ “I think decolonizing is also about reclaiming and refinding your power. You do have the power.”
✨ “Don't be afraid to look into the shadows, to look into the parts of your story that you wish weren't, cause I think the parts that we wish weren't are usually the parts that were the real gems are.”
✨ “Internal healing is not a quick fix.”
✨ “Decolonizing is about undoing systemic oppression and the hard parts of that but it's also about finding joy in your life.”
