On this episode of Finding Her, Julia interviews Rev. Connie Habasch who just became an author releasing her book "Awakening from Anxiety- A Spiritual Guide to Living a More Calm, Confident, and Courageous Life. During our talk today, Connie discusses 3 out of 7 keys to discovering a more calm and confident life. An expert from the back of her book shares, we live in the age of anxiety where oftentimes you are prescribed a pill to keep calm and carry on. There are other approaches; however that look at deeper issues for real healing. Phycotherapist, yoga instructor, and interfaith minister Reverend Connie L. Habasch shows us a way to transform our perceptions using mindful awareness, so that we can live with purpose and serenity. In over twenty- five years as a counselor helping people overcome anxiety, Rev. Connie has taught that it takes more than chanting mantras, stretching, meditation, and relaxation techniques to calm anxiety. It requires a transofrmation in perception, moment to moment body awareness, and conscious response to thoughts and emotions. With the first 3 keys shared in this episode you too can begin to heal from within by learning how to move through your own anxiety. Things to think about when you are listening to this episode:1. How or when does anxiety present itself in your life?2. Stress and overwhelm can take over your calm and mindful presence, when this happens what do you do?3. Connie shares an exercise where you can use visualization of waves in the ocean to move through feelings of anxiety. This episode is full of ideas, tips, and strategies to help you become more aware and present with yourself and your anxiety. Julia paired this episode in the body positivity because fear, overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and judgement of others including the negative self talk is connected with learning how to embrace the body you live in. Once we become aware of our struggles and our own feelings and deficits, we can begin to unravel and heal.To find more about Rev.
