S4 Ep #4 Identity, Coming Out & The Power of Language with Rachel Keighley

Today I’m talking to the delightful Rachel Keighley. She is the host of the Over The Rainbow Podcast, which is dedicated to queer education and queer representation. She is a PhD student at the University of Leicester specialising in LGBTQ+ online hate and has recently started the international book club, Reading the Rainbow.
 
In this episode we take a deep dive into all things queer and community. Rachel tells us what inspired her to start her own podcast and what led her to dedicating an entire PhD to studying LGBTQ+ online hate. She shares with us her own coming out story,  and gives some great practical tips on how to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

Importantly, we discuss exploring your identity and finding a sense of belonging in the world, and the power of questioning the stories we received when growing up.
