#0022 😃Welcome to another episode of Your Purposeful Purpose Podcast😃

In this episode, I take a chapter right out of my book!

Albert Einstein defines insanity like this: “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Cycles are patterns that we get into that repeat over and over again.

You may be asking yourself what makes us get too much in our heads? Or in the words of Tyrese Gibson, why do we get in our own way? We become so accustomed to our cycles that we begin to live in them, with no motivation to get out and no effort expended to identify the root problem.

We spoke on this previously in our conversation about addiction. Addictions can manifest as tiny daily bad habits that you can’t kick or evolve into life-ruining patterns of which you cannot let go. Addictions create cycles of hurt. Weaving halfheartedly in and out of these cycles makes it harder for you to make it completely out.

The cycle will continue to repeat over and over again until you decide to stop it. For example, you lose weight and get excited for a time, but then you lose motivation and gain it back. You lose weight again, you gain more. You get into a bad relationship, so you break up. You enter into the exact same relationship with a different person, and you repeat the same mistakes.

Life has a crazy tendency of putting things or people back into your life. They have a different face and a different name, but they will turn into the same people over and over again if you don’t learn from your patterns and decide to respond differently.

Homework:

Just like Tyrese said, are you in your own way? What cycles are you in?Seek out the root of any cycles in your life.
