And slow yourself down.

Breathe…

And just notice your frown. 

PAUSE…

It may be slight,

Or it may be deep.

Your face holds,

The emotions you keep. 

PAUSE…

Without any stories, 

Without all the pain.

Let yourself observe,

The darkness in your brain. 

PAUSE…

Frustrations and complaints,

Sadness and anger too.

They’re all swirling around, 

Trying to overpower you. 

PAUSE…

But keep on breathing,

Slower and slower until,

Your mind make a shift,

And gets a bit more still. 

LONG PAUSE…

Breathe…

And relax.

Breathe…

And release. 

PAUSE…

Breathe…

And be still.

Breathe…

And find peace.

LONG PAUSE…

Come into this moment,

And feel the rest dissolve.

Come into your body,

Knowing it’ll resolve.

See if you can find,

Just one grain of light.

So gratitude can enter,

And help to rewrite.

It’s okay to be here,

There’s something to learn inside.

Give yourself some grace,

Then move on and let it subside.
