Verse Guide

Ephesians 4: 31-32

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with malice. Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

This is the position we shall remain during this time of conflict. We are claiming this heart. A heart open to kindness and a heart that rejects malice throughout whatever may arise.

 Matthew 18:15-17

“If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be stablished by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or tax collector.”

Ephesians 4:15-16

“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

 Romans 12:17-19

“Repay no evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the lord.”

James 5:16

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.“

Galatians 6:1

”Brothers, If someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.”

PRAYER

Father,

In this time of overwhelm, we claim this spirit of gentleness. Help us to use this to confront what needs to be confronted in our own hearts, and give us the words to do the same for others. We claim Peace over this relationship, we seek to honor You above all. Guide us as we humble ourselves, as we seek to forgive or be forgiven, and go before our words.

In Jesus name

Amen
