– How to harvest karma, in a good way –

Have you ever wondered whether your destiny is carved in stone? And what about free will? Is destiny just an accidental thing like a coincidence? How do we know when to exercise our free will, and when to let our destiny unfold? Let’s begin by understanding the difference between Destiny and Free Will…

Destiny: the inevitable fate to which a person is destined; a predetermined course of events that's beyond human control.

Free will: the ability to choose that is neither determined by fate or divine will.

Every person has a destiny. But throughout each of our lives, destiny and free will meet … over and over again, action and reaction.

Is there a spiritual law governing these interactions? Yes. It’s called karma.

The events (or even energy patterns like attracting the same kind of relationship over and over) that SEEM beyond our control can be changed, but only if we recognize the patterns. This is where free will comes in.

We have a choice in the actions we take. We have a choice in how we respond. We have our free will to react either positively or negatively. Depending on how we respond, a new chain of events will unfold. Through our free will, we can then choose new actions that bring success and happiness to ourselves and others. Just as we can change lanes on the freeway, we can also change lanes within our life’s journey.

Free will presents us with choices and opportunities that can shape our destiny. It's the individual journey, what we learn along the way, and how we grow to be a better person, that's important.

Whenever something happens, we cannot always just magically snap our fingers and change our circumstances. But we can remain spiritually centered, respond with thoughts of love and compassion, and to ask, “Where do I belong in all this … how can I benefit from this leg of the journey?”

Using free will in this way allows us to make choices that can modify and shape our destiny.
