Hello everyone and welcome to today’s Super Healthy episode. Today we are talking about infection vs inflammation. Sometimes patients confuse the terms. Infection is Infection: The invasion and multiplication of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are not normally present within the body. An infection may cause no symptoms and be subclinical, or it may cause symptoms and be clinically apparent. Inflammation is a process by which the body's white blood cells and substances they produce protect us from infection with foreign organisms, such as bacteria and viruses. Over my career I saw much more inflammation due to injury than infection. And I saw inflammation as helpful bringing in the right amount of natural chemicals to help in the healing process in the body. As I worked with my patients to restore alignment and function of their joints, the inflammation did its’ job and then the joint was restored and repaired to its best function. Thank you for joining us today and see you next time on Super Healthy.
