Today, I discuss how many of the things we do to our bodies in the name of health, such as Wim Hof-type breathing, fasting, immersing ourselves in cold water, and training intensively, are inherently stressful. However, when these activities are carried out in a safe and highly controlled environment they can create positive adaptations in the body and lead to significant improvements in our health. We just have to build up to these practices gradually and remind ourselves that more doesn’t always mean better. In this AMA show, I focus on the significant role that rest and recovery plays in our training and, in light of my imminent return to the US, I tackle the subject of avoiding jet lag and maintaining a high level of health while traveling.
