The most important work I’ve done for myself over the years has been getting calm AF - which, as you now know, is not a permanent state of blissful serenity, but a willful insistence on protecting my own energy no matter what’s going on around me. Because matching someone’s bad energy is not helping me or them or anyone else, it’s just making things harder and worse.
