Picture yourself lying on a beach. Snow flurries whip across the sea and over the sand. The ocean crashes in the distance. Relax and close your eyes. Let the sounds of the wind pull away your anxiety. Focus on the soothing sound of nature. Your heart rate slows. Everything is calm and serene.


Why I made this soundscape:


This week I was reading an article about how before the industrial revolution humans used to have two sleep periods during the night. They would go to bed around 9:00 PM and then wake up between midnight and one. They would get up and for a few hours, and then go back to bed for their second sleep between two and six in the morning. The idea made me feel a bit better. Maybe waking up at three AM isn’t so odd.
