Today we are heading back across the Atlantic Ocean to the Americas, more precisely into the tropical regions of Central America where a string of small countries occupy a long thin strip of land that connects the North American and South American continents.

We are headed to Panama, a country that is geographically very strategically positioned, controlling as it does, the Panama Canal that connects the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. Panama is one of the most developed and fast-growing economies in the region and is a crucial transport and logistics hub on a global scale.

Joining us from Panama will be a Louis O’Connor a south Dublin local, like myself, who is a business man and investor who has been living in Panama for many years with his Panamanian wife and family.

Louis has a long history in business overseas going back over thirty years with stints in Germany, US as well as Panama and Ireland. Currently he is working on several exciting investment initiatives in precision agriculture initiatives related to the production of strawberries, aloe vera and other produce.

I am delighted to have Louis join us on the line to talk about his experiences and reflections on doing business internationally and to get his perspective on the future opportunities and challenges that are visible from his perspective in Panama.
