Whether at work focusing on tasks and projects, in conversations with co-workers or loved ones or doing monotonous tasks like the dishes or cleaning, each moment is an opportunity to cultivate focused attention. In session 26, "Refining focused attention" Dustin Guinee discusses meditation and mindfulness techniques for limiting distractions and becoming more focused and intentional, throughout the day. Dustin guides practitioners through a focused attention meditation to cultivate greater focus and then shares his new poem, "On Top the Mountain", a reminder to get a wider perspective on one's life, to focus in on what truly matters. By becoming aware of distractions that keep us from staying focused, we can begin to mindfully limit or avoid unnecessary diversions so that we can stay aligned and engaged with the most important thing in front of us, in this present moment.
