Ep 048: Loneliness is a real problem. Lonely people aren’t just sadder, they are actually unhealthier and they die younger. Loneliness raises stress levels, impedes sleep, and makes depression and anxiety worse. And the scariest part is, loneliness is becoming a bigger problem. Ironically, even though we’re more connected than we’ve ever been through technology, in the physical realm, we’re more disconnected than we’ve ever been.
America’s suicide rate increased by 25% between 1999 and 2016. So if connecting people across the globe instantly isn’t helping our loneliness, what can we do?
Today we talk to Teal Swan, author of several books including The Anatomy of Loneliness: How to Find Your Way Back to Connection. As a survivor of severe childhood abuse, Teal Swan knowns loneliness and depression. But to make things more interesting, she was also born with a range of extrasensory abilities, including clairvoyance, clairsentience, and clairaudience.
Today she uses her extrasensory gifts as well as her own harrowing life experience to inspire millions of people towards authenticity, freedom and joy. Her worldwide success has earned her the nickname “The Catalyst. And at the end of this podcast I’m also going to address a little bit of controversy so stay tuned for that.
Today we will learn:

The healing power of presence, non-judgment, and affectionate touch

How long it takes for oxytocin to release from touch
