Studies show that clutter can affect our anxiety levels, sleep, and ability to focus. It can also make us less productive and here’s the real kicker for me… it can trigger coping and avoidance strategies.
So all that’s bad enough, but our physical environments can also influence our cognition (so our ability to understand things), it can affect our emotions and behaviors, even including our relationships with others.
