When we get stuck in the “what ifs” in life, we often get stuck in a spiral of fear. Then we get caught on the thought train and worry that if this happens or that happens, or if I do this or I don’t do that and this worry just creates anxiety. When we can’t predict or control the future, our immediate response to this uncertainty is fear. When we are stuck in this place we often go into fixing and controlling. This constant state of fear and anxiety robs us of our joy. The struggle is to stay in the moment and not get caught in the fear. Often the present moment is not as bad as our fears. There is a saying that 94% of our fears never come to fruition.
