πΈ A new record?
πΉ Part (Location, Fear, Rather be doing, Age, Needs):
1. Afraid of overwhelm
2. Fear of being misunderstood
Exiles: Worthlessness, ashamed of free and open play, "I shouldn't exist"
π What I'd like to do differently:
There were a couple times where I made assumptions or could have listened more closely, to be even more efficient!
Note: it may have sounded like I was merely encouraging fantasizing, but that was not my intention.Β
I don't believe it's necessarily therapeutic to indulge/fantasize every anti-social thought. I don't recall seeing any mention in IFS literature specifically supporting (or discouraging) catharsis as an effective tool.Β
My understanding and perspective is one of "all parts are welcome", meaning, if a part has something it wants to show us, then continually repressing/denying it is counter productive. We all have "bad" thoughts; I believe we would be better off in the big picture, culturally and personally, by finding ways to safely acknowledge, normalize, validate, and learn about them.
