Remembering Urantsetseg Tserendorj
February 07, 2023 09:45I'VE WALKED THE LANEWAYS between George's Dock and Custom House Quay and know the area where 49-year-old Mongolian Urantsetseg Tserendorj was murdered by a drunken, thieving young thug roaming the night on a bike. Urangsetseg had been walking home from the cleaning shift that was putting her two children through college. You can bet that the scumbag who killed her would never accept unskilled work for minimum wage during antisocial hours.

The Writer's Box
January 09, 2023 16:22I GOT A WALNUT Writer's Box as a combination Christmas Birthday present and now am mesmerised by the thought that I have a tool that my Irish ancestors might have used as they integrated into America in the late 1800s.

Experimenting with thoughts connected by images
December 21, 2022 08:20I AM SETTING UP several new academic modules for early 2023 and believe I we can learn from images that students snap, scrape, and share. The process involves using Flickr groups in which students can directly upload content from their handsets' share sheets.
Using Two Wireless Rigs
December 20, 2022 17:00If you follow my Instagram or my Flickr photos, you'll know that I have a lot of old equipment along with some new stuff. I talked about both of those types of equipment and also about how we are setting up behind the scenes recording "Heritage and Stories" with the Tipperary libraries. This is important because I'm hoping that some of the people who join us--young kids on the youth media team and the librarians that are part of the staff--might listen to this Topgold Audio Clip and learn wha...

December 08, 2022 10:34I WANT TO recap 2022--an important year because we finally restored face-to-face communities--before the end of the month so I'm making a public proclamation of my intentions. Starting with me acknowledging that I need to change some of my underlying processes.

Using Rode Wireless Go as Laptop Mic
October 27, 2022 11:09SOME OF MY BEST successes happen when I discover the items I own can be used in more than one setting. So I'm very pleased to discover that my Rode Wireless Go II microphones can be used along with my Microsoft Surface Book. They're detected as a standard audio input. This means I can walk around a classroom with the Surface Book's rear camera capturing broadcast quality audio from a conversation I have with people up to 200 metres away.

October 23, 2022 12:36AS I RAMP UP teaching materials for a module I' teaching about digital transformation, I've decided to migrate my Personal Knowledge Management process from Notion and Roam Research to Obsidian. This socialist agenda needs to be reeled in
July 19, 2022 11:28BECAUSE I TRY to understand people who have political viewpoints very different from mine, I let myself fall into rabbit holes where some of my family get their political values. I remember my grandfather at the kitchen table in the 1960s telling me that "some people want to have a government that gives them everything" and once that happens those people keep voting to keep the socialists in office. But as all gun-carrying Americans know, socialism runs counter to American values. In the mind...

Impressed by Veed.io #EdChatie
July 05, 2022 10:55I STARTED EXPERIMENING with Veed.io on my Samsung Note 9 handset. Here are a few impressions concerning mobile content production, project templates, and workflow.
First Veed.io on Note 9 [Flickr]
July 05, 2022 10:38 image/jpegBernie Goldbach posted a video: As explained on my Topgold Audio Clip. I'm using a Samsung Note 9, a four year old handset with a cracked screen. I discovered templates inside of veed.io that look like they could suit several different purposes. I identified myself with an educational interest. I'm not using any templates right now. But the fact that they exist suggests that maybe I can adjust one of the templates for portrait view and then further iterate that as a project.
