This Wednesday I discussed various articles focusing on Physician Parent burnout and how it differs based on gender. One thing I mentioned was I did not know how things changed since COVID.
Well give me two days and a goal and I found some articles looking at that exact topic. There was an article on Medscape by Avery Hurt Nov 12, 2021 that reviewed a study published in JAMA Open Network titled Experiences of Work-Family Conflict and Mental Health Symptoms by Gender Among Physician Parents During the COVID-19 Pandemic that looked at this exact topic. The results were surprising.
Listen in today as I discuss this specific article and how COVID may have pushed the Gender Disparity back even further when it comes to Physician Dads versus Physician Moms.
