Image of a Father - How Does It Affect YOU as a Parent

My wife recently surprised me with a date night to see the new Batman movie.  If you know my wife, you know that this is not typically a movie she would willingly choose to see.  

During the movie the viewer watches as Bruce Wayne struggles with the identity of his father, first seeing him as this perfect philanthropist, yet later learns of some buried family secrets (no spoilers here).  This shift in the image of his father seems to take a toll on Bruce, and it had me questioning how I would respond. 

We see our parents in a certain eye of childhood.  We know what they present to us and how they act around us, which molds many of us into who we are today.  however, what if you learned something new about your dad that shook those foundational beliefs?   How would it affect you?  And with those thoughts in mind, how are YOU shaping YOUR image for your own kids?
