College campuses need new initiatives, strategies and assessment to address issues of sexual violence. These initiatives must go beyond "one-off" events in order to develop a comprehensive prevention strategy. We'll discuss what do campus climate surveys reveal about the state of sexual violence on campus, the value of peer education and certificate programs, and some special considerations for student populations such as LGBTQ and international students. Last, we'll cover which topics and strategies should be included in faculty and staff training initiatives and the challenges and benefits of using technology to move this programming online.
On this episode of Student Affairs Live, host Tony Doody speaks with Holly Rider-Milkovich, Director of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan, Ruth Anne Koenick, Director of the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers, and Jody Jessup-Anger, Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Coordinator of the Student Affairs in Higher Education Master’s program at Marquette University.
