Habit Reversal Technique:


1. Identify the habit you would like to change


2. Identify the sequence of behaviours associated with that habit


3. What are the antecedents (the triggers)


4. What is the reinforcement? (What is the function of behaviour)


5. What are the negative consequences


6. What is an adaptive competing response? (An incompatible behaviour)


7. Get social support! (Tell a friend or family member to help you through this!)


8. REWARD YOURSELF!


(Think of adaptive rewards here, verbal praise “YAY ME” Self care routines etc)
