You may have heard about the Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive pest that showed up in Pennsylvania in 2014. The invasive pests ability to breed quickly and move west, is a grave concern to US agriculture and our trees. There is a somewhat controversial campaign going on to smash the pest in areas where the lanternfly is known to exist but some chose not to.
