Kevin Callaghan attended UNC-CH with no plan to get into the hospitality industry. Yet, here he is 30+ years later, knee-deep in it. He is the 'Creative Director' of many businesses.    Surviving COVID, when you are in the business of creating community, isn't easy. Kevin shares insights on how it gave them time to 'fix' things about the restaurant industry. One of them is creating what is known as a "Living Wage" for all his employees, so they don't have to work second jobs to make ends meet, and they feel appreciated.   During COVID, he opened new restaurants (PLUM, Durham, NC), a brewery (HAY DAY, Raleigh, NC), and soon a new romantic bar in Carrboro. The name is yet to be revealed… to him also. He said it's like giving birth to a baby, and you have to let the character reveal itself.   Sign up for his amusing and informative newsletters via acmecarrboro.com, and if you are local, be sure to experience one of his creations.
