Siobhán Nelligan is the owner of Síolta Music Therapy. She is an IACAT-accredited Music Therapist specialising with children and adolescents. She is experienced in the areas of child and adolescent mental health, childhood trauma, grief and loss, and developmental disability.Siobhán uses a wide range of creative media in her therapeuitc practice and is currently pursuing further training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist with a specialism in play therapy. She is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of the arts, trauma informed practice, and the use of music to support attuned interactions between caregivers and their children.Music therapy is an evidence-based health profession that involves the intentional use of music to support quality of life, health, and well-being. Music therapists work with clients to achieve social, emotional, cognitive, behavioural, and communicative outcomes. Music therapy offers a safe space for self-expression and personal growth within the context of an attuned therapeutic relationship.
