Anyone ever tell you, or insist, you need therapy? Well, that's how our current anonymous caller arrived on the show this week. "My girlfriend says I need therapy." I say "great, let's talk about it." "I don't trust therapy professionals. I don't trust the system." I remind him, "if you're here, it may be time to".   Anonymous 102 shares their unique perspective as a black man in today's society, including how he became the man he is today and how he has big dreams for his future. He opens up about his journey of growing up tough, amongst sex, drugs, and alcohol, and living the fast life all throughout his teens and early to late 20's. He shares about his life and experiences, which, were often fun, but not always easy. Then how his trust was rarely rewarded, but still, it's how and why he survived, and developed self reliance, ambition, and conviction. He identifies his goals as continued success and starting a family, and how the new woman in his life gave him the wake up call needed to reconsider his lifestyle. All good things. But I sit down with Anonymous 102 to get real. He recognizes his faults and bad behaviors and what is not right by his girlfriend. He's been through much, but never been to therapy and he does not trust others naturally. Anonymous 102 states readiness to be proactive to change for the better, knowing "it's time to grow up". Together, we discuss therapy, his concerns, and if seeing a professional can perhaps be a bridge to support his new relationship and goals for his future.
