The Power of Positive Thinking with Mahogani Navarrete

Episode 14 - I interview Mahogani Naravette who is an Atlanta based artist who sells her masterpieces on her website mahoganistudios.com and is currently enjoying all life has to offer and bringing positive vibes to all that are in her presence. She was also featured on Gary Vaynerchuk's 'Tea with Gary Vee'! Mahogani and I had a wonderful conversation about the beauty and authenticity of art and how she has been using it to express herself as well as make some money off of her works since she was in high school.

I found myself smiling and laughing throughout this entire episode. The energy that Mahogani brings is so authentic and contagious that she will make you want to throw whatever excuses you have out the window and start doing something meaningful with your life. However, this sense of gratitude and genuine love for life did not always come easy. Struggles with bipolar disorder, abusive relationships, and other unfortunate events have shifted her perspective and has found art to be an outlet where she can express herself and also bring value to others.

We also discuss how we are easily influenced by what we see on television in the media, and in-turn it results in a lack of our own judgement and common sense. Surrounding yourself with people that inspire and lift us up is crucial for our personal growth, rather than individuals who say it's acceptable to cope poorly with change out of spite for our own self confidence.

At the end of the day, unfortunate situations and changes in our lives are inevitable. Finding balance in our daily routines including healthy practices such as meditation, exercise, prayer, and a healthy diet will contribute to the betterment of our well-being.
