In the thirteenth chapter of Hosea, we find the gospel message - -Thou hast destroyed thyself- but in me is thine help-. We see how our love for sin has brought ruin and damnation upon us all, but that in Jesus Christ, we find salvation. An investigation into Israel's particular sins shows us how we are all worthy of damnation for what we have done, but the glory of the gospel shows us that we are unworthy of the salvation freely given to us in Jesus Christ.
