Christ prays that we would be with Him

We look at the intercessory work of Jesus Christ as our High Priest and consider the great petition in His High Priestly prayer - that we would be with Him where He is. We marvel at the desire of the Lord and we are encouraged by how this prayer will be answered, and so the believer has every confidence that they will be with Jesus forever in heaven. John 17-24.

We continue our exposition of Luke's gospel and come to the episode where Martha and Mary host the Lord Jesus Christ. We see Martha's many cares and distractions that pull her away from the Lord Jesus Christ and see what is needful for our lives - communion with Christ - and thankfully this good part will never be taken from us. There is found in this text an exhortation to prioritize Christ in our lives above all other lawful activities. Luke 10-38-42.

Christ's prayer for our faith

We consider Christ as our Great High Priest and His intercessory prayers for His people. The Christian has a great assurance of their faith not failing because, in the heavens, Jesus Christ prays that their faith does not fail. However, he does not pray that our faith will not be tested. But in this text, we will also discover some of God's purpose for the trials of faith He brings to us. Luke 22-31-33.
