Hey, it's Gillian here from DailyKetoMeals.com. You’ll learn about the carbs hiding in your food.

As you probably know, you need to keep your carbs under 20 grams per day on Keto. However, you might go over the limit and not even know it. See, there are hidden carbs and sugars in dozens of foods on the supermarket shelf. It’s hard to keep track of everything that’s good and bad for you.

So here’s a quick tip:

Check the labels of everything you buy for 1 week. You’ll be surprised by the things that have sugar and carbs in them. When it comes to packaged foods, make sure you avoid milk, pasta sauce, ketchup, bbq sauce, salad dressings, … and meats like, salami, hot dogs, sausages and beef jerky.

Plus, you need to be careful of fresh fruit and vegetables. People think, “Oh this is a vegetable, so I can eat it.” Nope. When it comes to vegetables, avoid carrots, peas, potatoes and corn. These are full of carbs. Often up to 20%. When it comes to fruit, avoid everything except the berries. You can eat strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries without getting kicked out of ketosis, but only if you eat them in moderation. So if you’ve hit a weight loss stall, check the labels of your food carefully.

I promise, if you do this, not only will you ramp your body back into ketosis, you’ll become more informed about your foods too.
