#003 - Petrea was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in 1983 and told she 'wouldn't see Christmas' just 3 months away. Her children were aged 4 and 7. Her marriage had recently collapsed just after the suicide of her brother. Petrea spent several months in a little cave outside of Assisi where St Francis use to retreat to. She spent 18 hours a day meditating - and weeping! - for several months. On her return from Italy, she was in an unexpected remission and was told that it may only last a few days or weeks.
