If there’s one keyword to keep in mind for the month of May, it would probably be ‘Power.’ Or, better yet, “Empower.” Why? Well, Pluto seems to be a main focus for the month, as well as a strong Scorpio energy.
A close second keyword for May also might be “Growth,” what with Jupiter moving into grounded Taurus after a whole year in impulsive Aries. Yet, we have to become quite specific about where and how we grow, and empower ourselves. With Taurus and Scorpio being so emphasized, it behooves us to throw our energies into the expansion of our physical resources, and lap up the power that comes from being able to stand on our own two feet. Yeah, baby!
Diving a little deeper, the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in aforementioned Scorpio on May 5th concludes Eclipse Season, which kicked off in April. Eclipse Seasons are always a little hairy, with dramatic endings and powerful beginnings. On this Eclipse, it’s time to close a chapter. To surrender. To release in a big way. Nobody said it’d be easy, but the feeling of power that comes from stepping away from what no longer serves, is simply delicious.
As if to reward us, Jupiter steps into Taurus on May 16th, stabilizing and grounding the energy caused by this cosmic storm. After a year in impulsive, fiery, independent Aries, it’s our moment to take what we started and manifest these plans, ideals, and hopes into concrete reality. Jupiter will help us to grow our material world in more ways than we can count. This is a time where building a comfort zone is exactly what we want to be doing, especially with so much change going on.
Initially, we’ll be challenged as Mars moves into Leo and opposes Pluto on May 20th, along with a Jupiter-Pluto square on May 23rd, and Pluto going retrograde from the 1st of the month. Phew! We’re invited to stand in our integrity, to avoid drama and ruthlessness, and to push for our ideals and visions. We can no longer let anyone stand in our way, but we don’t have to be a tyrant about it. In fact, quietly standing back and observing – releasing control – is where we find our inner power. One thing is for sure – the month of May is not for the faint-hearted, but it does promise to be transformative. Buckle up!
