Welcome to Woman Leadership show. I'm Janet and in this episode, I will be sharing with you those memories I had travelling with my mum.

In 2009, It was when my mum found out there was a lump on her breast that she decided that she wanted to travel around the world and that was after birth of my youngest son. With my youngest son about 7 months old, I went to Europe with her as our first long trip and subsequently another 6 trips America, Turkey, Korea, Japan, Royal Carribean cruise, Cambodia, Canada and Alaska cruise in 6 years. I managed to travel at least once per year with her before she was bedridden and passed on late Nov 2019.

It was not easy for me to make the decision as a mother of 3 being the youngest just 8 months old and had to travel with her for 14 days to Europe. Even the tourmates though I was single without any children as I was willing to accompany my mum to travel where the group usually are young couples with the children or just older couples who are retired. I do seen one lady went on her own during one of the tour.

When we were in America, we had quarrels which affected our mood during the beginning of the trip. It was because she was not happy because we arrived at the Disney themepark at Los Angeles after a long trip. We were with two who are cousins and one of them was planning to have one of the roller coasts ride with my mum. My mum loves roller coaster rides which that are not something for a faint heart like me. However there was super long queue, we decided to go back to the hotel nearby to rest before coming back to the theme park. The cousins fell asleep in their hotel room and we went back to the theme park on our own but we wasted about 4 hours. My mum was very upset that we did not make full use of the time taking the rides at the theme parks.

I felt bad so I accompanied her as many rides at night even I did not feel like taking those rides.

Japan was the trip with celebrity, she was given a bouquet of flowers on the coach and won first prize at the dinner. Both of us did not wear the kimono.

Korea snow experience, sledge and theme parks

Takeaway

No need to be right as long as she is happy especially during trips.

Create good experience and memories, photo albums.

Be adventurous and try new things , so I challenged myself to take the roller coaster ride in USJ with my daughter. Be a child again and not limit my thinking that I have to be serious and enjoy every moment with our love ones.

I hope that through my sharing, it draws inspiration and personal reflection for you. I believe every woman can be a leader in your own way. I look forward to seeing you in my next episode where I will be sharing with you tips and ways to realize your full potential as a leader on Woman Leadership.
