TRANSCRIPT FOR EP12:
Welcome to Woman Leadership show. I'm Janet and in this episode, I will be sharing with you about seeing yourself as a leader and your mindset will shift.

I have always seen myself as follower since young till I started to see myself as leader that’s where my life was transformed. I used to follow what others tell me to do and be the obedient girl so others will like me and care for me.

Though I have participated in leaderships positions in schools, I was searching for someone whether in higher authority or a friend who can advice me what to do. To a certain extent, I got influenced due to ignorance and too trusting of what others say.

I was also afraid of what others think of me and every word gesture will affect me a lot and I could brood over it over few days and nights what was wrong about me that people dislike and said about me.

As I did not have a figure or role model, I would think someone advice or words would be better than my own. I was lost in looking for my career direction, afraid to ask others for help and figured my own way and what I think is correct.

- Things started to change when I started to read more , talk to more people on their past experiences and learnings, have my own thinking and make my own decisions
- Lead the life that I wanted even having to make hard decision to let go of unhealthy friendships and relationships from my lives.
- Less concern about what other think of me . It is always about themselves when they comment about me or they could be jealous that they could not do what I do. I do not take it to heart about what others say or judge about me as long I follow my instinct and my conscience is clear. They do not know my story and they are not there for me or with me so they has no right to judge me. We all have our own stories and reasons for doing certain things or make certain decision. Be a leader in our own way not necessary in authority or in rank but how we can influence and impact others in our small ways such as by sharing in groups, social media, have our voice heard to a wider group. As we hear stories and how others have overcome them, they inspired us that we are not alone and gave us ideas how we can do it and overcome similar challenges.

I hope that through my sharing, it draws inspiration and personal reflection for you. I believe every woman can be a leader in your own way. I look forward to seeing you in my next episode where I will be sharing with you tips and ways to realize your full potential as a leader on Woman Leadership.
