A timely episode during Preeclampsia & HELLP Syndrome Awareness Month, Ebony Ford is a survivor who is calling on all maternal health advocates and survivors of these conditions to participate and spread awareness in the plight to help others feel more educated and expectant mothers will be more knowledgeable about the signs & symptoms.

A great book is Hellp Survivor Preeclampsia: Hellp Syndrome Fight Back Design For Guy Who Suffered Preeclampsia And Wants To Raise Awareness And Wants To Hellp Ya.

Ebony Ford, proud mother to Reign Victoria and a NICU Grad. The NICU is short for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where dangerously ill or premature babies are cared for in hospital. Ebony is with us today to share her journey of surviving the birth of her daughter, who came into this world early - weighing a little over one pound.

No mother expects to be faced with the chaos and trauma of the sudden onset of HELLP syndrome - a type of liver disorder that in Ebony’s case was due to severe to pre-eclampsia. This condition put Ebony into acute liver and kidney failure and compelled the early birth of her then 26-week old daughter.

I’ll let Ebony talk about her experience shortly and I wanted to share with you Ebony’s work as an ambassador for the local March of Dimes – a mother of a movement where support and comfort are provided to moms and their premature or sick babies as well as education programs and research for medical professionals. Ebony’s family recently appeared in multiple commercials and articles for the latest national campaign “It’s not fine” as part of her work being a survivor of and advocate for NICU mums and bubs.

Ebony herself is trained in psychology, pastoral counselling and is currently pursuing her masters in forensic psychology amidst being a gospel artist, a mother, a wife and a support to so many of her NICU friends. I asked Ebony to join me here to today to share her WhyMe moment from the perspectives of a mother, counsellor, psychologist and a NICU grad, as together, her family navigate the ongoing ways they turned their tragedy into triumph every single day with #andsheshallreign.

You can contact Ebony at her Linktr.ee and on her website.
