Victor has been battling his weight problems all his life, as far back as he can remember. He’s done the Atkins diet, the protein diet, you name it, he’s done almost everything to try and lose weight, he’s even had surgery, called The Gastric Sleeve, to manage his weight, and while the surgery did have the desired effect of bringing Victor’s weight down, losing about one hundred pounds, he wasn’t able to continue losing that weight any further than the 100 lbs.

A change in Victor’s life, where he went out west to live in British Columbia for eight months, brought Victor’s weight down to the range of when he was in high school, at 240 lbs., but since he’s been back, he returned home in October of 2020, his weight has slowly crept up, to where he now weighs 280 lbs., and now Victor has embarked on a new program offered by the Humber River Regional Hospital.

The program is being offered in conjunction with the Bariatric Network, and is called the Opti fast Program. This program is only available with a doctor’s prescription, and by referral only. It focuses on the patient’s social, nutritional, and kinesiologic health, and attacks the weight through education, and cognitive behavioural change, and now, Victor is going to chronicle his journey at the Bariatric program, and as he goes through each session, give his audience an update on how his weight loss journey is proceeding.
